The aim of the course is to introduce students to the use of basic tools to manipulate data in order to make administrative decisions. Topics covered include a) introduction to probability theory, b) decision analysis, c) basic statistical concepts, d) recursive models, e) linear and non-linear optimization, and f) discrete optimization. Exercises are provided from real world market, economics and management. Real-life examples of the application of the above methods to management issues are given.
